A major warming and drying trend begins Monday, bringing smoke, temperatures near 100 degrees and elevated fire danger. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Umpqua Valley from Tuesday morning through Thursday night.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Umpqua Valley from 11 a.m. Tuesday through 11 p.m. Wednesday. Highs of 96 to 99 degrees are expected in Roseburg and surrounding communities, increasing the risk of heat-related illness.

Roseburg will see mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures this week, with highs near 86 Monday and around 84 Tuesday and Wednesday. Overnight lows will fall into the 50s, while rain and thunderstorm chances remain very low.

Roseburg will see a dry, seasonably warm weekend with highs in the mid-80s. Afternoon winds and low humidity could increase fire spread concerns, though no Red Flag Warning is in effect for the Umpqua Valley.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect Wednesday for the Umpqua National Forest and Southern Oregon Cascades. Thunderstorms may bring abundant lightning, hail and wind gusts up to 45 mph, creating conditions for rapid fire spread.

Hot weather continues in Roseburg through Wednesday, with highs reaching the 90s and a growing chance of thunderstorms east of town. Some storms could bring frequent lightning, gusty winds, small hail and heavy rain.
