Warmer, Drier Weather Starts the Week in Southern Oregon
Southern Oregon will start June warmer and drier, with Roseburg highs near 84 Monday and 87 Tuesday before a weak front brings cooler, seasonal weather Wednesday. Rain chances remain low and mostly limited to the coast and Cascades.
Southern Oregon will start June with warmer and drier weather as an upper ridge builds over the region, bringing above-normal temperatures Monday and Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Medford said daytime highs are expected to run about 5 to 10 degrees above normal across southern Oregon and northern California to begin the week. West side valleys, including the Roseburg area, are expected to reach the mid to upper 80s, while some valleys farther south and east could see low 90s by Tuesday afternoon.
For Roseburg, the forecast calls for sunny skies Monday with a high near 84. Monday night is expected to be mostly clear with a low around 53. Tuesday is forecast to bring increasing clouds and a high near 87, followed by a mostly cloudy Tuesday night with a low around 54.
A weak front is expected to move through the area Wednesday, bringing temperatures closer to seasonal levels. Rain chances remain low, around 10 to 30 percent, and are mainly limited to the coast and Cascades. The front is not expected to bring major impacts, aside from some afternoon breezes.
Roseburg’s Wednesday forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 75. Wednesday night is expected to be partly cloudy with a low around 51.
Looking toward the weekend, forecasters are watching a low pressure system approaching the Pacific Northwest late Friday. Current guidance suggests the system may split and track in a way that limits rainfall, especially for inland areas. Coastal showers appear more likely than widespread inland rain, while temperatures through the weekend are expected to be near or below seasonal levels.
Marine conditions remain more active, with gusty north winds and steep to very steep seas continuing into Monday night. Conditions are expected to improve Tuesday and Wednesday, though steep wind-built seas may return in southern waters late in the week.
No watches, warnings, or advisories are currently listed for inland southern Oregon or northern California.
