ROSEBURG, Ore. — Roseburg is heading into a quiet stretch of late spring weather, with dry conditions, mostly sunny skies and warmer afternoons expected through the week.
The National Weather Service in Medford said high pressure will remain offshore through Wednesday before building farther east later in the week. That pattern is expected to keep the region dry and stable, with forecast confidence high through Friday.
For Roseburg, temperatures are expected to start the week in the low to mid 70s before climbing closer to 80 degrees by Thursday and Friday. Monday is forecast to become mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to stay sunny, with highs in the mid 70s.
The warmest part of the week is expected Thursday and Friday, when daytime highs could reach the upper 70s to low 80s in Roseburg. Overnight lows should remain mild, generally in the 40s and low 50s.
Winds are expected to stay fairly light in Roseburg, though some afternoon northerly breezes are possible. The National Weather Service also noted that some marine stratus could push into the Umpqua Basin early Monday, possibly bringing low clouds around Roseburg for a few hours before clearing.
Looking ahead to next weekend and Memorial Day, forecasters say a slight cooldown is possible as a trough moves into western Canada. Most forecast models keep the moisture north of the region, but the National Weather Service said a front around Memorial Day could be close enough to bring a marine push and a chance of showers for areas including Coos and Douglas counties.
For Roseburg, the week looks mostly sunny, dry and gradually warmer, with any real change more likely to arrive closer to Memorial Day.
