Roseburg Police Arrest Man In Stolen Vehicle Case, Cite Multiple Warrants
Roseburg police said a 26-year-old man admitted taking a Toyota Camry from the Goodwill parking lot and was found to have multiple warrants. Christian Michael Sherman was booked into Douglas County Corrections on vehicle theft related charges and warrants.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - A 26-year-old Roseburg man was jailed Wednesday after Roseburg police said he admitted taking a vehicle from the Goodwill parking lot earlier this month and was also found to have multiple outstanding warrants.
According to police, officers contacted Christian Michael Sherman at Carl's Jr. on April 16 while investigating an April 9 case involving a stolen 2018 white Toyota Camry. Investigators said Sherman had been seen on surveillance video taking the vehicle from the Goodwill parking lot at 250 Grant Smith Road.
Police said Sherman admitted taking the car and was arrested without incident.
During the contact, officers also discovered Sherman had several warrants. Authorities said the warrants were confirmed before he was transported to Douglas County Corrections, where he was booked and lodged.
Sherman was lodged on the following charges:
- Unlawful Use of a Vehicle
- Theft in the First Degree
- Criminal Mischief in the First Degree
- Warrant: Failure to Appear in the First Degree, Roseburg Municipal Court
- Warrant: Failure to Appear, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Roseburg Municipal Court
- Warrant: Failure to Appear, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Roseburg Municipal Court
- Warrant: Failure to Appear, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Roseburg Municipal Court
- Warrant: Failure to Appear, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Roseburg Municipal Court
- Warrant: Failure to Appear, Theft in the Second Degree, Roseburg Municipal Court
- Warrant: Failure to Appear, UP Meth, Coos Bay Police Department
- Warrant: Failure to Appear in the Second Degree, Coos Bay Police Department
Police said the case numbers were 262147 and 250074.
