Rain Expected To Return To Roseburg Tonight As Cooler Weekend Pattern Moves In
Rain is expected to return to Roseburg tonight, bringing cooler temperatures, higher humidity and several chances for showers through Saturday before conditions begin to ease Sunday.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Roseburg is expected to see a noticeable change in the weather beginning tonight, with rain chances increasing and cooler temperatures settling into the area through the weekend.
After a mild Thursday with increasing clouds and a high near 79, rain is expected to move inland overnight as a front spreads across southwest Oregon. The National Weather Service forecast for Roseburg calls for an 80% chance of rain tonight, with new rainfall amounts generally between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible.
Friday is expected to stay wet, with rain likely through the day and a high near 68. Rain chances remain at 80%, with light winds becoming variable in the afternoon. Friday night will remain mostly cloudy, with rain likely mainly after 11 p.m. and a low around 50.
The cooler pattern is expected to continue Saturday, when Roseburg is forecast to reach only about 65 degrees. Rain chances remain high at 80% during the day, with more rain likely Saturday night before 11 p.m. The overnight low is expected to fall to around 48.
Forecasters said the incoming system marks a significant pattern change for the region, bringing much cooler temperatures, higher humidity and precipitation chances after a stretch of warm and dry weather. Rainfall totals are expected to be highest along the coast and in eastern Douglas County, though much of southwest Oregon should see at least some measurable rain.
By Sunday, Roseburg is expected to see partial clearing with a 40% chance of rain and a high near 68. Sunday night is forecast to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.
The start of next week looks mostly dry, though forecasters said the broader weather pattern may continue to bring slightly below-normal to near-normal temperatures, along with occasional shower chances, especially from the coast into Douglas County.
