YMCA of Douglas County Opens Registration for Summer Programs
YMCA of Douglas County is opening registration for several summer programs, including youth basketball, strength and conditioning, babysitting training, lifeguard certification, preschool and Pre-K, plus a $10 membership trial pass June 15–20.
The YMCA of Douglas County is preparing for a full summer of youth programs, family activities, training courses and a special membership offer for the community.
Several program registrations are now open, giving local families a chance to plan ahead for summer activities. Among the upcoming opportunities is the AS1 Basketball Clinic, scheduled for June 22–24 for youth ages 7–17. The clinic is designed to help young players build skills, confidence and fundamentals on the court.

Young athletes can also take part in the YMCA’s Youth Strength & Conditioning Program. The program focuses on strength, speed, agility and confidence, while also emphasizing safe movement and injury prevention through coached training.

For youth ages 11–16, the YMCA is offering an American Red Cross Babysitting & Child Care Training Course on June 27–28. The course includes First Aid and CPR/AED certification, giving participants important skills for babysitting, child care and emergency situations.

Those interested in working around the water can also register for an upcoming Lifeguard Certification Course. The training provides professional certification and practical skills for anyone interested in lifeguarding or aquatic safety.

The YMCA is also accepting enrollment for its 2026–2027 Preschool and Pre-K Program. The early learning program provides a safe and supportive environment focused on school readiness, social development and lifelong learning.

Community members who want to try the YMCA before joining will have an opportunity later this month. From June 15–20, the YMCA will offer a $10 Membership Trial Pass. Those who decide to join by the end of June will have their joining fee waived.
