Roseburg Blocktober Fest Returns Oct. 3 With Music, Food, Vendors, and Farmers Market

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Southeast Jackson and Southeast Main streets will become a block party on Saturday, Oct. 3, as the fifth annual Roseburg Blocktober Fest returns to downtown Roseburg. The free, all-ages festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Southeast Lane and Southeast Douglas avenues.

Presented by NeighborWorks Umpqua, the event brings together live music, artists and makers, food vendors, local beer and wine, family activities, community organizations, and downtown businesses. Organizers estimated that about 5,000 people attended last year’s festival.

Community Stage Schedule

The published Community Stage lineup features five acts:

• 11:30 a.m. to noon: Borrowed Time, a Roseburg-based rock and roll cover band
• 12:30 to 1 p.m.: Sellout, an alternative rock band made up of Roseburg High School students
• 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: The Brothers Reed
• 3 to 4 p.m.: TOB (That Other Band)
• 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: The Mother Smuckers, a Roseburg funk fusion band

Farmers Market Joins the Festival

The Umpqua Valley Farmers Market is scheduled to operate alongside Blocktober Fest in the 400 block of Southeast Main Street. For Oct. 3, its hours will shift to 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., two hours later than its usual Saturday opening. Market shoppers and festival visitors will be able to browse its vendors during much of the event.

What to Know Before You Go

Admission is free. Food, merchandise, and alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. The festival’s FAQ says attendees age 21 and older must show valid ID and buy a festival mug and tokens to purchase beer, wine, or mead; outside cups cannot be used. It lists mugs at $5, tokens at $2 each, and a package of two mugs and six tokens for $20. Token booths are listed at Southeast Jackson and Southeast Cass, Southeast Jackson and Southeast Oak, and the Douglas Avenue end of Southeast Jackson.

With the event area closed to vehicles, the FAQ directs visitors to park in open spaces outside the festival footprint. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leash.
