YMCA of Douglas County Offers $0 Joining Fee During Fall Membership Promotion

ROSEBURG, Ore. - August 31, 2026 - As students head back to school and families settle into new fall routines, the YMCA of Douglas County is offering an incentive for people looking to add fitness, recreation and community activities to their schedules.

From Monday, August 31, through Saturday, September 12, new members can join the YMCA with a $0 joining fee as part of the organization's "Back to School. Back to the Y" promotion.

The fall season also brings a variety of programs for children, teens and families. Current and upcoming offerings include youth sports, swimming lessons, homeschool physical education, youth strength and conditioning programs and Gracie jiu-jitsu classes focused on self-defense and bullying prevention.

The YMCA is also preparing to bring back its Teen Workforce Development program beginning October 7. The program connects teens with local employers while helping participants learn workplace skills, prepare resumes and practice interviewing. Opportunities are also available for older teens interested in upcoming lifeguard and swim instructor certification courses.

Adults returning to a fitness routine can take advantage of the YMCA's group fitness programs and exercise areas, along with its aquatic center. The facility includes two pools, two hot tubs, a sauna and steam room. The YMCA also operates a 3,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor courtyard exercise area with equipment including squat racks, sleds, battle ropes, sandbags and other functional fitness equipment.

The YMCA of Douglas County is located at 1151 NW Stewart Parkway in Roseburg.

The $0 joining fee promotion ends September 12.
