Stuff N’ Things Celebrates First Anniversary as Myrtle Creek Shop Grows to 89 Vendors
Stuff N’ Things celebrated its first anniversary in Myrtle Creek with vendor sales and community activities. Owner Brittany Johnson reflected on growing from 26 to 89 vendors and the relationships built along the way.
MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. - When Brittany Johnson opened Stuff N’ Things last November, the shop had 26 vendors. As customers gathered for its first anniversary celebration on November 1, that number had grown to 89.
The antique, vintage and specialty merchandise shop at 875 South Main Street marked the occasion with vendor sales, custom engraving, a fundraiser benefiting veterans and a chance to celebrate the people who have helped the business grow.
For Johnson, the relationships formed over the past year have meant as much as the growth.
“The community has been so supportive over all of this,” she said. “And seeing just everybody enjoy it. Seeing the vendors grow and learn, like it’s been insane.”
Asked what surprised her most about owning the store, Johnson pointed to the connections she has made with the people selling their merchandise there.
“How close I’ve become to the vendors themselves. They are more than just people to me. They are family.”
That feeling extends to the customers who stop in regularly.
“They come in and we chitchat about life and, I mean, it’s a family,” she said.
Johnson’s connection to the antique business began long before Stuff N’ Things. Her parents operated Winston Now N Then Antique Mall for 19 years and Wilbur Auction for more than 25 years. When the Winston store closed, she wanted to preserve the sense of community that had developed around the family business. Stuff N’ Things held its grand opening on November 29, 2025.
The anniversary celebration came a few weeks ahead of that grand opening date, giving vendors and customers an opportunity to mark the store’s first year together.
Johnson said nearly every vendor participated in the anniversary sales, with some offering discounts of up to 75%. Mama Ginger’s Cookies set up outside, while vendor April Collette offered on-site custom engraving, including work on items customers brought with them. A Scentsy vendor and a raffle fundraiser benefiting veterans were also part of the celebration.
Behind the scenes, the growing vendor count has brought changes to how the store operates. A new QR-code-based checkout system allows employees to scan merchandise, helping simplify purchases and keep transactions moving.
Johnson said the first year has involved plenty of learning and adapting. Asked about her biggest challenge, she answered with a laugh.
“My biggest challenge is not being organized. I just wing things and hope for the best.”
The shop has also found customers beyond Myrtle Creek through Facebook Live shopping events held every other Sunday. Johnson features merchandise and special deals during the broadcasts, and customers can have purchases shipped or held for pickup.
Some shoppers come from California about once a month to collect their items, she said.
As the store heads into its second year, Johnson is working on additional plans, though she is keeping the details quiet for now.
“There are some things in the works on the back end and there’s some things that I want to bring to the community starting at the beginning of the year,” she said.
No specific projects or dates were announced during the interview.
The visit also marked a return to familiar ground for Shane Hayes of The Roseburg Plug, who covered the celebration for The Roseburg Receiver. His coverage of the store’s grand opening last November was his first video news report for the publication.
Nearly a year later, Hayes and Johnson reflected on their respective beginnings and joked about making an anniversary interview a continuing tradition.
