SUTHERLIN — Umpqua Woofstock’s first-ever Spring Fair brought vendors, shoppers, community supporters, and animal lovers together this weekend at Oak Hills Golf Club in Sutherlin, marking another step in the nonprofit’s growing effort to support pets and families across the Umpqua Valley.

The three-day event was held April 24-26 at Oak Hills Golf Club, located at 1919 Recreation Lane. According to Umpqua Woofstock’s event listing, the Spring Fair ran from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Roseburg Plug attended the event to gather video coverage, highlighting the fair’s vendors, community turnout, and the mission behind Umpqua Woofstock’s work.

Organizers said the Spring Fair was created as another way to raise support for the nonprofit’s programs, including efforts to make pet care more affordable for local families.

“We’re fundraising for our cause, which is hosting discounted vaccines for people who can’t afford to care for their pets or get into the vet.”

Umpqua Woofstock is known locally for its pet-centered events and outreach. The organization says its annual highlights now include a March Discount Vaccine Clinic, the April Spring Fair at Oak Hills Golf Club, the Umpqua Woofstock Festival in June, a Howloween Carnival and Discount Vaccine Clinic in October, and the Timber Town Christmas Bazaar.

For organizers, the work is rooted in more than just events. It is about helping people keep and care for the animals that are part of their families.

“We’re passionate that people should have that human-animal bond.”

The Spring Fair also served as a showcase for local and regional vendors. Organizers said the event drew interest from beyond Douglas County, with vendors traveling from other areas of Southern Oregon and the coast.

“We had people come all the way from Coos Bay and Medford to vend here at this event.”

The first-time fair built on Umpqua Woofstock’s continued growth from a single pet-themed festival into a broader nonprofit effort focused on animals, families, and community support. A previous Roseburg Receiver article reported that the event grew out of vendor demand following the success of the Timber Town Christmas Bazaar, with the Spring Fair designed as an indoor, family-friendly shopping event featuring local vendors and small businesses.

Organizers said the response reflects the kind of community connection they hope to keep building.

“That’s what we’re all about — helping each other out. It takes a village.”

The Spring Fair marks the first time Umpqua Woofstock has hosted the event, adding another seasonal fundraiser to its calendar while continuing its mission of supporting pets, pet owners, and families throughout the Umpqua Valley.
