Umpqua Valley Composite Invites Students to Try Mountain Biking This Summer
Umpqua Valley Composite is inviting students entering grades 5–12 to try mountain biking at River Forks Park on June 20. The co-ed team welcomes all ability levels for a season of trail riding, friendship, and a little racing.
Students heading into fifth through 12th grade this fall are invited to hit the trails with Umpqua Valley Composite, a co-ed youth mountain biking team welcoming riders of all ability levels.
The team is hosting a “try it outs” event at River Forks Park on Saturday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. The event is open to students who are curious about mountain biking, whether they are brand new to the sport or already comfortable on two wheels.
Umpqua Valley Composite is part of the Oregon League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association, commonly known as NICA. The program gives local students a chance to ride with others, build confidence, learn trail skills, make friends, and take part in a season that includes both riding and some racing opportunities.
Organizers say all ability levels are welcome, and the team is designed to be a supportive environment for students who want to get outside, try something new, and enjoy mountain biking in the Umpqua Valley.
Those interested can attend the June 20 try-it-out event at River Forks Park or reach out to Coach Evan by calling or texting 541-580-4402 or emailing UmpquaValleyMTB@gmail.com. Team Director Shelby can also be reached at 541-680-4885.
