Historic downtown Oakland came alive Saturday as the Vintage Street Fair brought together vendors, classic cars, food, family activities and small-town charm. The Roseburg Plug stopped by to take in the celebration and support the community.

Three Douglas County nonprofits, Glide Revitalization, Umpqua Valley Farm to School and Winston Area Community Partnership, have received education and STEM grants from the Pacific Power Foundation.

Roseburg welcomed 17 students and four chaperones from sister city Kuki, Japan, for a 10-day cultural exchange featuring host families, City Hall meetings and tours of local government and public safety facilities.

Thrive Umpqua will host a Trails Day cleanup at Stewart Park from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 24. Volunteers will pick up litter along the trail and help remove graffiti at the skate park. Supplies and snacks will be provided.
