Sutherlin High School LEOs To Host Loop Around The Pond For Sight
Sutherlin High School’s LEOs Club will host Loop Around the Pond for Sight on May 16 at Ford’s Pond, raising support for local children who need glasses and vision care. Used glasses, hearing aids and cellphones will also be collected.
SUTHERLIN, Ore. — Community members are invited to walk or jog around Ford’s Pond this Saturday in support of local students and families who need vision care.
The Sutherlin High School LEOs Club will host Loop Around the Pond for Sight on Saturday, May 16, at 9 a.m. at the main entrance of Ford’s Pond in Sutherlin. The event supports the Sutherlin Lions Vision Program, which helps local children receive glasses and other vision support.
Registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., with a $10 entry fee. Participants can walk or jog the two-mile loop around the pond.
Organizers are also collecting used glasses, sunglasses, hearing aids and cellphones. Donations will be accepted between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. and will support the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation.
The event offers a simple way for families, students and community members to enjoy Ford’s Pond while helping provide vision resources for local kids.
The Sutherlin High School LEOs Club is connected with the Sutherlin Lions and gives students opportunities to serve their community through local projects and outreach.
