Sunrise Enterprises to Celebrate Opening of New Roseburg Facility

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Sunrise Enterprises will celebrate the opening of its new facility on Mulholland Drive with a community event on Friday, Sept. 18.

The grand opening will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1931 NW Mulholland Drive in Roseburg. The public is invited to tour the facility, meet Sunrise participants and staff, and learn more about the nonprofit’s services in Douglas County.

The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments, activities and opportunities to connect with Sunrise staff, participants and community partners.

Sunrise Enterprises provides employment and community-based services for people with disabilities. The new facility gives the organization additional room to expand its Day Support Activities and other services designed to help participants develop skills, build relationships, pursue personal goals and become more involved in the community.

“This is so much more than the opening of a new location,” Executive Director Jane Maritz said. “It is about creating more opportunities for people to work, grow, connect and belong.”

Maritz said the larger space will allow Sunrise to serve more people in an environment where participants can continue building skills, pursuing their goals and taking an active role in the community.

Employment Director Savannah Jones said the Mulholland location was created as a place where job seekers can explore new possibilities, businesses can connect with prospective employees and Day Support Activities participants can take part in meaningful experiences.

“We hope our community will join us at our open house to see this space for themselves, learn more about the incredible services Sunrise provides throughout Douglas County, and meet some of the amazing people receiving services,” Jones said.

Sunrise officials said the need for inclusive, community-based services continues to grow. The new location will provide another gathering place for learning, social connection, personal growth and greater independence.

The organization’s administrative offices will remain at 423 NE Winchester Street in Roseburg.
