Roseburg Boys Lacrosse Eyes Possible Conference Title During Senior Night Matchup
Roseburg boys lacrosse has a big week ahead, with a Monday fundraiser at Mountain Mike’s Pizza and a Friday Senior Night matchup against South Eugene that could help decide the Southwest Conference title.
The Roseburg boys lacrosse team is asking the community to rally behind the program during a major week that includes a fundraiser Monday and a final home game Friday that could help decide the Southwest Conference championship.
Roseburg has put together a strong season, sitting at 6-1 in conference play and 9-3 overall, according to the Roseburg Lacrosse Club. The team is also looking for redemption after a 14-9 road loss to South Eugene earlier this season.
South Eugene entered the week undefeated in the Oregon High School Lacrosse Association Southwest Conference. Depending on other games and factors still in play before Friday, the May 8 matchup could help decide which team claims the conference title.
If Roseburg wins and secures the conference championship, it would mark the program’s first conference title since 2013, according to the club.
Monday, May 4: Community Fundraiser And Tailgate Party

The Roseburg Lacrosse Club will hold its third annual Tailgate Fundraiser on Monday, May 4, at Mountain Mike’s Pizza.
Because lacrosse is not yet an OSAA-sanctioned sport, the club does not receive school funding in the same way as other sports. The club said it relies on fundraising, grants and donations to support the program, despite having a strong partnership with Roseburg High School.
Funds help cover:
- Coach stipends
- Referee fees
- Uniforms
- Safety gear
- Field equipment
- Meals for away games
- Player scholarships
Mountain Mike’s Pizza will donate 20% of qualifying walk-in and call-in sales from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. when customers mention they are supporting “Roseburg Lacrosse.”
A tailgate gathering with players, coaches, friends, family and fans is expected to begin outside around 6:45 p.m. The event will include music and tailgating games. Players are expected to arrive after practice, which ends around 7 p.m.
Community members who cannot attend the tailgate can still support the club by ordering from Mountain Mike’s Pizza on Monday and mentioning Roseburg Lacrosse.
Friday, May 8: Senior Night And Final Home Game

Roseburg will host South Eugene on Friday, May 8, for its final home game of the season and Senior Night at Finlay Field at Roseburg High School.
Senior acknowledgements for nine graduating players are expected to begin around 6:45 to 7 p.m. The varsity game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
The game could potentially help determine the OHSLA Southwest Conference champion, though the club noted that the outcome depends on other games and factors still in play before Friday.
Game details:

- Senior acknowledgements: Approximately 6:45 to 7 p.m.
