Farmhouse Decor Vendors Relocating To Serendipity In Downtown Roseburg

ROSEBURG, Ore. — Vendors from Farmhouse Decor are preparing to relocate to Serendipity in downtown Roseburg, with the move planned for June 16.
Farmhouse Decor announced the move in a special announcement, saying family health issues have impacted the current building’s suitability. The vendors will be moving to Serendipity, located at 632 SE Jackson Street.
The relocation is expected to bring Farmhouse Decor’s vendors together with Serendipity’s existing selection, offering shoppers a broader mix of home decor, gifts, vintage items, and other unique finds in one downtown location.
Ahead of the move, Farmhouse Decor is holding a vendor moving sale. Customers are encouraged to stop by and take advantage of available discounts while they last.
Farmhouse Decor thanked customers for their continued support as its vendors prepare for the transition.
The FISH of Roseburg to Celebrate 55 Years With Anniversary Event and Van Unveiling

The FISH of Roseburg will mark 55 years of feeding the community with an anniversary celebration Friday, May 15, at its food pantry on Jerry’s Drive.
The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. at The FISH Food Pantry, 405 Jerry’s Drive in Roseburg. Community members, partners, and supporters are invited to attend, bring food donations, and learn more about the organization’s work serving local families.
A major highlight of the celebration will be the unveiling of FISH’s new refrigerated van, which the organization says will expand its ability to safely transport and distribute fresh, nutritious food throughout Douglas County.
As part of the celebration, FISH is asking the community to help “fill our new van with food and hope.” Donations collected during the event will directly support local families facing food insecurity.
“We are incredibly proud of 55 years of serving our community,” said Executive Director Jenn Reida. “This event is about celebrating where we’ve been, but also looking forward, making sure we continue to meet the growing need in our community with dignity, compassion, and partnership.”
The event will include:
- Hot dogs and hamburgers provided by the Salvation Army Canteen
- Live music by Erik Schnautz
- A Kids Zone hosted by FEATT Family Network
- Henna by Christina
- Pantry tours and opportunities to learn more about FISH programs
- Food donation opportunities to help fill the new refrigerated van
At approximately 3 p.m., community leaders, including the Mayor of Roseburg, are expected to offer remarks before the official proclamation of “Food Insecurity Stops Here Day.” Organizers said the proclamation will recognize the importance of local partnerships and the shared effort to ensure no one in the community goes hungry.
The anniversary event is sponsored by Rogue Credit Union. FISH also thanked the partners who helped make the new refrigerated van possible, including First Interstate Bank, Umpqua Health Alliance, Coquille Tribal Community Fund, The Roundhouse Foundation, and the Jerry Bruce Community Campus.
For more than five decades, The FISH of Roseburg has worked to address food insecurity in the community. Today, the organization serves more than 1,000 families each month through a choice-based pantry model, which allows families to select the food they need while helping reduce food waste.

2026 Public Use Restrictions Available For Douglas District

The 2026 public use restrictions for lands protected by the Douglas Forest Protective Association are now available as fire season approaches.
DFPA encourages residents, visitors, and outdoor users to review current fire danger levels and restriction information before heading into forestlands. Restrictions can affect activities such as campfires, smoking, equipment use, off-road travel, and other outdoor recreation depending on conditions.
Residents are also encouraged to prepare now by maintaining defensible space around homes, reviewing evacuation plans, updating go-bags, and staying informed through official fire agencies.
Anyone traveling outside their home area should check local restrictions before camping, cutting firewood, using equipment, or recreating outdoors.

OSU Extension To Host Landslides In Forested Landscapes Field Tour

ROSEBURG, Ore. — Oregon State University Extension Service will host a field tour later this month to help landowners and land managers better understand landslides, unstable slopes, and forested terrain.
The Landslides In Forested Landscapes field tour is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is being offered in partnership with the Oregon Department of Forestry.
According to OSU Extension, landslides are a natural part of the landscape, but they can have major effects on land, property, forest productivity, and harvest planning. The tour is designed to help participants learn how to read the landscape and identify signs of unstable terrain.
During the field tour, participants will visit multiple sites showing different landslide features and indicators of unstable slopes.
Participants will meet in Glide and ride in vans provided by OSU Extension to several landslide locations along Rock Creek Road in Idleyld Park. Exact meeting location details will be shared with registered participants.
The cost is $5 per person, and advance registration is required by Sunday, May 17, 2026.
To register, visit https://beav.es/NKu or call OSU Extension in Douglas County at 541-672-4461.
Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made at least two weeks before the event by contacting Holly Hope at 541-672-4461 or holly.hope@oregonstate.edu.
Roseburg City Council To Consider Homeless Commission Resignation

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Roseburg City Council is scheduled to consider accepting the resignation of Homeless Commission member Betty Hiatt during its Monday, May 11 regular meeting.
The item is listed under Commission Reports and Council Ward Reports in the city’s amended agenda packet. According to the agenda item summary, Hiatt resigned from her position on the commission after notifying city staff on April 27.
In an email included in the packet, Hiatt said she made the decision after attending her first Homeless Commission meeting and giving the matter “much thought and consideration.” She said she saw several areas that could cause a possible conflict with her current position and personal life.
Hiatt apologized for any inconvenience her resignation may cause and said she appreciated the opportunity to hear and learn more about what the commission hopes to accomplish.
City staff are recommending that council accept Hiatt’s resignation “with regrets.”
According to the agenda packet, the person appointed to fill the position must live or work within the boundary of the Roseburg School District. If council accepts the resignation, city staff plan to begin seeking interested applicants through local news media, social media and the city’s website.
The Roseburg Homeless Commission is one of the city bodies focused on community issues related to homelessness. In the same council packet, the city also identifies homelessness as one of Roseburg’s ongoing challenges, noting that the city has partnered with local nonprofit organizations and Douglas County on coordinated strategies.
Monday’s regular City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Roseburg City Hall, 900 SE Douglas Avenue. The meeting will also be available online through the city’s website and Facebook Live.
Roseburg Council To Consider Ordinance On Oregon Sanctuary Law Compliance

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Roseburg City Council is scheduled to take up a proposed ordinance Monday night that would add language to the city’s municipal code about compliance with Oregon’s sanctuary laws.
The proposed ordinance, listed as Ordinance No. 3626, would add a new section to Roseburg Municipal Code titled “Compliance with Oregon Sanctuary Laws.” The item is scheduled for a first reading during the May 11 regular council meeting.
According to the city’s agenda packet, the ordinance was prepared after recent council discussions about immigration-related issues. During an April 13 meeting, council members discussed possible impacts involving community trust, public safety and civil rights, while also noting the city’s limited authority when it comes to federal immigration enforcement. Council later directed staff on April 27 to bring back an ordinance related to Oregon sanctuary laws.
The proposal would not create a new local immigration policy, according to the city. Instead, it would place existing state law requirements into Roseburg’s municipal code by reference.
The ordinance cites several Oregon laws that generally limit the use of local public resources for federal immigration enforcement, except where required by law. The laws also include related confidentiality and compliance requirements.
If approved, the new code section would state that the City of Roseburg, along with its officers, employees and agents, must comply with Oregon sanctuary laws, including ORS 180.805, ORS 180.810 and ORS 181A.820 through 181A.829, as amended over time.
City staff said adding the language to local code would help provide clearer direction for city employees and support consistency in how immigration-related matters are handled at the local level.
No direct financial impacts have been identified, according to the agenda packet. Staff are recommending that council proceed with the first reading. No motion is required for the first reading.
The regular City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Roseburg City Hall, 900 SE Douglas Avenue. The meeting will also be available online through the city’s website and Facebook Live.
Warm Start To The Week Before Midweek Cooldown In Douglas County
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Douglas County will start the week warm and mostly sunny before a weak weather system brings a chance of rain and cooler temperatures by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Medford.
Roseburg is expected to see mostly sunny skies Monday with a high near 82 degrees. Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 55.
Tuesday will bring another warm day, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 82 in Roseburg. Winds are expected to become west at 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. The National Weather Service said a thermal trough near the coast will move farther inland Tuesday, keeping temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s in some west side valleys.
Forecasters are also watching an upper-level low approaching the Oregon coast Tuesday. That system is expected to increase winds aloft, with gusty conditions possible in parts of the region, especially east of the Cascades and in the Shasta Valley. Moisture will also increase west of the Cascades, though the chance for thunderstorms remains low.
Rain chances increase Tuesday night into Wednesday. In Roseburg, there is a 30 percent chance of rain Tuesday night, mainly after 11 p.m., with a low around 52. Wednesday carries a 40 percent chance of rain before 11 a.m., followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 71.
The midweek system is expected to push temperatures down about 10 to 15 degrees across the region. Behind it, a more progressive northwest flow will keep temperatures closer to normal for the rest of the week.
The forecast for Roseburg calls for mostly sunny skies Thursday with a high near 74, followed by mostly clear conditions Thursday night. Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 70. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 68, and Sunday is expected to warm slightly with a high near 73.
Forecasters said no major weather impacts are expected later this week, though there is a low chance of light rain Saturday that could affect some outdoor events.
