Douglas County Fair Heads Into Final Two Days With Music, Livestock Auction And Family Activities
The Douglas County Fair heads into its final two days Friday with Tone Loc, the annual 4-H and FFA Livestock Auction, carnival rides, live music, exhibits and special admission offers for kids, teens and fairgoers who “Dress a Vegetable.”
ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Douglas County Fair is heading into its final two days, with another full day of entertainment, 4-H and FFA activities, carnival rides and live music planned for Friday.
Fairgoers can begin exploring the commercial buildings at 10 a.m. Friday, while the carnival opens at noon. The commercial buildings will remain open until 11 p.m.
Friday night’s featured entertainment will bring rapper Tone Loc to the amphitheater stage for a 7:30 p.m. performance. Throughout the day, local and regional musicians will also take the Garden Park Stage, giving visitors several opportunities to catch live music while making their way around the fairgrounds.
Families have several admission opportunities available during the fair. Children ages 12 and younger receive free admission every day, courtesy of the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. Teenagers can receive $2 off admission by bringing a canned food donation.
Friday also brings one of the fair’s more unusual admission specials. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., anyone who participates in the “Dress a Vegetable” promotion can receive free admission.
Agriculture remains at the center of the fair as 4-H and FFA members continue showing their animals and taking part in activities across the grounds. One of Friday’s biggest events is the annual Livestock Auction, scheduled for 4 p.m. in the Beef Ring.
Those driving to the fair should plan for a $10 parking fee per vehicle.
Free shuttle buses are also available from Roseburg High School and the First Student Bus Lot in the Green District. Buses will run every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., then increase to every 15 minutes from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.
With rides, exhibits, livestock, food and entertainment filling the grounds, Friday offers another packed day before the Douglas County Fair wraps up Saturday.
