Warm Start To The Week Before Midweek Cooldown In Douglas County
Douglas County will start the week warm and mostly sunny before a weak midweek system brings cooler temperatures and a chance of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday, with more seasonal conditions expected later in the week.
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Douglas County will start the week warm and mostly sunny before a weak weather system brings a chance of rain and cooler temperatures by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Medford.
Roseburg is expected to see mostly sunny skies Monday with a high near 82 degrees. Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Tuesday will bring another warm day, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 82 in Roseburg. Winds are expected to become west at 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. The National Weather Service said a thermal trough near the coast will move farther inland Tuesday, keeping temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s in some west side valleys.
Forecasters are also watching an upper-level low approaching the Oregon coast Tuesday. That system is expected to increase winds aloft, with gusty conditions possible in parts of the region, especially east of the Cascades and in the Shasta Valley. Moisture will also increase west of the Cascades, though the chance for thunderstorms remains low.
Rain chances increase Tuesday night into Wednesday. In Roseburg, there is a 30 percent chance of rain Tuesday night, mainly after 11 p.m., with a low around 52. Wednesday carries a 40 percent chance of rain before 11 a.m., followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 71.
The midweek system is expected to push temperatures down about 10 to 15 degrees across the region. Behind it, a more progressive northwest flow will keep temperatures closer to normal for the rest of the week.
The forecast for Roseburg calls for mostly sunny skies Thursday with a high near 74, followed by mostly clear conditions Thursday night. Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 70. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high near 68, and Sunday is expected to warm slightly with a high near 73.
Forecasters said no major weather impacts are expected later this week, though there is a low chance of light rain Saturday that could affect some outdoor events.
