Two Winston Residents Jailed In Child Abuse Investigation Under Karly’s Law

WINSTON, Ore. — Two Winston residents were arrested this week after police launched a child abuse investigation involving Karly’s Law, according to the Winston Police Department.

Police said the investigation began Monday, April 13, with officers working alongside the Oregon Department of Human Services. During the investigation, authorities identified 33-year-old Ashley Alexander and 25-year-old Peter Homan, both of Winston, as suspects.

Both were arrested Tuesday without incident and booked into the Douglas County Jail.

According to police, Alexander and Homan each face two counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment, two counts of third-degree assault, and a probation violation.

Investigators said the children involved in the case are safe. The case remains under investigation with continued coordination between Winston police and DHS.
