Roseburg police have identified the pedestrian killed in a July 18 collision on Diamond Lake Boulevard as 36-year-old China Anna-Marie Fields of Winston. Police said the incident does not appear criminal in nature and remains under investigation.

Two more bats found in Douglas County have tested positive for rabies, bringing the county’s total to three cases this year. One resident was bitten after picking up a sick bat, while another bat was discovered by a vaccinated dog.

A 71-year-old Illinois man died after falling from a pontoon boat at Diamond Lake. Divers with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office later recovered his body from the lake.

A pedestrian was killed late Saturday after being struck by a vehicle on Diamond Lake Boulevard in Roseburg. Police said the driver was not injured, is cooperating and the collision does not currently appear criminal in nature.

A 24-year-old Roseburg man was found dead Thursday evening following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Roberts Creek Road. Deputies located Jarod Michael Whitlock while investigating a missing-person report.

Rescue crews used a rope system to lift an injured 20-year-old man from the North Umpqua River near Toketee Falls after a roughly 60-foot jump left him with a dislocated shoulder.
