Roseburg Weather: Cool Start To Week Before Sunshine And Warmer Temperatures Return
Roseburg will start the week cooler and mostly cloudy, with possible marine clouds or drizzle Monday and Tuesday mornings. Sunshine and warmer spring temperatures return by midweek, with highs reaching the low to mid-70s before a possible unsettled pattern next weekend.
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Roseburg will begin the week with cooler, mostly cloudy conditions before a warmer and sunnier pattern settles into the Umpqua Basin by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Medford.
Forecasters said an upper-level trough over the region is bringing scattered showers across parts of southern Oregon and Northern California, though the greatest shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to remain south and east of Roseburg.
For Roseburg, the main impact early this week will be cooler temperatures, periods of cloud cover, and the possibility of nighttime or morning marine clouds drifting inland from the coast.
The Weather Service said marine layer clouds, fog, and spotty drizzle are expected along the coast and coastal valleys north of Cape Blanco. Some of that moisture may reach the Umpqua Basin at times Monday and Tuesday mornings, including the Roseburg area, before breaking up later in the day.
Roseburg’s detailed forecast calls for partly cloudy skies Sunday night, with a low around 41. Monday is expected to start mostly cloudy before gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 64.
Monday night will bring increasing clouds and a low around 44, followed by another mostly cloudy start Tuesday. Forecasters expect Tuesday to gradually become sunny, with a high near 65.
A drier and warmer pattern is expected to take hold Wednesday through Friday as an upper ridge moves into the region. Roseburg is forecast to reach the low 70s Wednesday, mid-70s Thursday, and around 70 Friday.
High temperatures across inland west side valleys are expected to run about 10 to 15 degrees above normal later in the week, with many areas away from the coast seeing highs in the 75 to 85 degree range.
The forecast for Roseburg includes:
Tonight: Partly cloudy, low around 41.
Monday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually sunny, high near 64.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, then gradually sunny, high near 65.
Wednesday: Sunny, high near 71.
Thursday: Sunny, high near 74.
Friday: Partly sunny, high near 70.
Saturday: Partly sunny, high near 68.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, high near 73.
Forecasters are also watching the potential for a more active weather pattern next weekend. The Weather Service said models show the ridge breaking down as a trough or low develops off the West Coast. Depending on its eventual track, the pattern could bring a greater chance of afternoon and evening showers or thunderstorms Saturday into Sunday.
For now, Roseburg’s week looks relatively mild: a cool and cloudy start, followed by sunshine and warmer spring temperatures by midweek.
