Roseburg Warms Into the 80s This Week as Dry Weather Returns
Roseburg will warm steadily this week, with mostly sunny skies and highs climbing from the mid-70s Monday and Tuesday into the mid-80s by Friday. Isolated thunderstorms are possible elsewhere in the region Wednesday and Thursday.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Temperatures will gradually climb across the Roseburg area this week, with mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs returning to the 80s by Wednesday.
Monday will begin with mostly cloudy skies before conditions gradually clear. The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 76 degrees, followed by mostly clear skies and a low around 48 Monday night.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 75. Temperatures are expected to climb more noticeably during the second half of the week, reaching about 80 Wednesday, 84 Thursday and 86 Friday.
A cutoff low-pressure system moving through the region could produce gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday. The greatest thunderstorm chances are expected near the Cascades and across northern Klamath County. Forecasters place the chance of thunderstorms at 10 to 15 percent Wednesday afternoon and evening, increasing to 15 to 20 percent Thursday.
Roseburg is expected to remain sunny and dry during that period, although the location of any thunderstorms could shift as the system develops.
The low-pressure system should move east Friday, allowing high pressure to return. Temperatures may rise to about 5 degrees above seasonal averages in western valleys, although the National Weather Service now expects highs in the 80s instead of the mid-90s shown in earlier forecasts.
Mostly sunny conditions are forecast for the weekend, with highs near 81 degrees Saturday and Sunday. Overnight temperatures throughout the week will generally remain in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
