Roseburg VA Bringing Back Classic Car Show, Adding Outreach Fair
Roseburg VA is bringing back its Classic Car Show on June 12, this time with an added outreach fair featuring VA resource teams, the Avenue of Flags, food trucks, and all cars welcome.
The Roseburg VA is bringing its Classic Car Show back this month, and this year the event will include more than cars.
The Car Show + Outreach Fair is scheduled for Friday, June 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Roseburg VA Medical Center ellipse, located at 913 NW Garden Valley Boulevard in Roseburg. The event is weather permitting.
Community members are invited to bring their cars, walk through the Avenue of Flags, visit with VA resource teams, and grab lunch from local food trucks. Organizers said all cars are welcome.
This year’s event will also include resource tables from the Roseburg VA’s Enrollment, Suicide Prevention, and HUD-VASH teams. The Roseburg VA announced that the returning car show is being expanded with those VA resource tables as a way to connect veterans and the community with services in a more relaxed setting.
The HUD-VASH program, formally known as Housing and Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing, combines HUD rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services for veterans experiencing homelessness.
The Roseburg VA’s enrollment team helps veterans learn about VA health care eligibility and registration. The Roseburg Eligibility and Enrollment Office is located on the VA campus, with regular weekday service hours listed by the VA.
The suicide prevention outreach portion also ties into a larger local and national effort to make sure veterans know support is available before a crisis point. The Roseburg VA has said suicide prevention remains one of its major priorities and that support is available for veterans who may be struggling, regardless of when or where they served.
The event is open to anyone who wants to stop by, see the cars, visit the flags, or learn more about available VA resources.
