ROSEBURG, Ore. - A Roseburg man was arrested Wednesday night after officers responding to a trespass complaint found he was wanted on two warrants, according to Roseburg Police.
Officers contacted Markus Clinton Miller, 34, at about 10:22 p.m. Oct. 7 in a field on private property just south of 200 SE Pine St. Police said they had received a report requesting that Miller be trespassed from the property.
Officers knew Miller had an outstanding Roseburg Police warrant, and dispatch advised them of another active warrant through Douglas County Circuit Court.
According to the patrol report, Miller pulled his arms away and walked forward after officers told him he was under arrest. Officers took him to the ground, where police said he continued trying to move his arms and legs to get away. He was eventually handcuffed and placed in a patrol vehicle.
Police reported finding a small zip-lock bag containing suspected methamphetamine in his possession.
The failure-to-appear warrants involved underlying charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle, with one also listing two counts of second-degree criminal trespass.
Miller was taken to Douglas County Corrections on the warrants, along with charges of resisting arrest and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. His parole officer also directed officers to lodge him on a parole violation, according to the report.
