A man sought in connection with an alleged illegal marijuana growing operation near Glendale was arrested Oct. 5 while attending an unrelated hearing at the Douglas County Courthouse, according to the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team.

DINT identified the man as Adam Paul Stewart. Detectives took him into custody and lodged him at Douglas County Corrections.

The arrest followed an Aug. 4 search of Stewart’s residence and property in the 1000 block of Tunnel Road. In information provided to The Roseburg Receiver, DINT Lt. Officers searched for him but were unable to locate him at that time.

During the search, detectives dismantled what DINT described as an illicit marijuana growing operation. The agency said investigators seized and destroyed 527 marijuana plants and seized more than 300 pounds of processed marijuana.

DINT also reported seizing:

  • Multiple firearms.
  • Residue amounts of methamphetamine.
  • A stolen U-Haul vehicle that was being dismantled.
  • A commercial welder believed to have been stolen from a work site.

The information provided by DINT did not include Stewart’s booking charges or his custody status following the arrest.

Stewart is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
