Roseburg is expected to see mild, mostly dry weather through Thursday, with only a slight chance of showers Wednesday morning. Highs are forecast near 68 Wednesday and 73 Thursday before cooler air moves in Friday.
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Roseburg can expect a mild and mostly dry stretch of weather through Thursday, with only a slight chance of showers early Wednesday before conditions improve later in the day.
The National Weather Service in Medford said a cold front and band of showers were moving through the region Wednesday morning. Rainfall amounts are expected to stay light, and some areas may remain dry altogether. For Roseburg, the forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers before 9 a.m., followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 68 degrees.
Forecasters said the system should continue shifting east through the afternoon, allowing precipitation chances to drop off by evening. Cooler and slightly unstable air moving onshore may also bring some fair-weather clouds to parts of Oregon later in the day.
Wednesday night is expected to bring increasing clouds, with a low around 45 degrees. Winds will remain light, with northwest winds becoming calm later in the evening.
Thursday should be quiet and mild in Roseburg. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies through mid-morning, followed by gradual clearing and a high near 73 degrees. Winds are expected to stay light before becoming north-northwest in the afternoon.
Another dry cold front is expected Thursday night into Friday morning. While it is not expected to bring rain to Roseburg, temperatures are forecast to trend cooler heading into Friday.
Forecasters said another weather system could bring light precipitation to northern portions of the region on Saturday, though amounts appear limited. Cooler onshore flow is expected to keep temperatures near normal for this time of year.
Looking farther into next week, most forecast models keep the area dry. A small number of ensemble members show a chance of precipitation around the Wednesday and Thursday timeframe next week, but forecasters said that solution remains an outlier for now.
