Roseburg Forecast Calls for a Dry and Warmer Weekend

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Roseburg is heading into a dry and increasingly sunny weekend, with afternoon temperatures expected to climb into the mid-80s by Sunday.

Patchy fog is possible before 9 a.m. Friday. Skies should then gradually clear, with a high near 81 degrees. Clouds are expected to increase Friday night as temperatures fall to around 51.

Saturday will begin mostly cloudy before becoming sunny later in the day. The high is forecast near 82 degrees, followed by mostly clear skies and a low around 51 Saturday night.

Sunday is expected to be the warmest day of the weekend, with sunshine and a high near 84 degrees. Sunday night should remain mostly clear, with a low around 53.

The National Weather Service in Medford said an upper-level low that brought showers and nearly 1,700 lightning strikes to the broader region since late Tuesday will move into western Idaho on Friday. Any remaining showers east of the Cascades should end by early afternoon.

Quiet weather is expected across Southern Oregon through much of next week. Temperatures should remain near or slightly above seasonal levels, and dry conditions are forecast through at least Thursday.

Forecasters are watching for a possible change beginning late next week. There is currently a 15% to 20% chance of precipitation along the coast as early as Thursday night or Friday, but the chance decreases farther inland. Longer-range forecasts suggest a potentially cooler and wetter pattern during the final week of September, although the timing, rainfall amounts, and inland reach remain uncertain.
