Rogue Credit Union Expands Partnership With UCC to Support New Track Facility
Rogue Credit Union has entered a five-year partnership with Umpqua Community College to support its new track and field complex, which will serve student-athletes, youth programs, local events and community recreation.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Rogue Credit Union is expanding its support of Umpqua Community College through a new five-year partnership centered on the college’s new track and field facility.
The partnership, established July 14, will support the development and operation of the facility, which will be known as the UCC Track & Field Complex Sponsored by Rogue Credit Union.
College officials said the facility is intended to serve not only UCC student-athletes, but also schools, youth organizations, families and community members throughout Douglas County.
“Rogue Credit Union has been a valued partner to UCC and our students for many years,” UCC President Rachel Pokrandt said. “This expanded partnership reflects a shared investment in Douglas County.”
Pokrandt said the track will provide a new competition venue for student-athletes while also creating a welcoming space for youth programs, community events, recreation and other activities.
“We are grateful for Rogue’s continued commitment to youth, families and education,” she said.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between Rogue Credit Union and the college. Rogue currently operates an on-campus student branch and provides classroom-based financial education. The credit union also participates in a co-branded student debit card discount program.
Rogue has supported UCC Athletics through game-day activities and promotional giveaways and has regularly sponsored the UCC Foundation’s annual Legacy Ball.
The new track and field complex is expected to host collegiate athletics, K-12 competitions, youth programs, campus events, community recreation and regional gatherings.
Rogue Credit Union President and CEO Matt Stephenson said supporting the project aligns with the organization’s goal of investing in the communities it serves.
“We’re excited to help create a space that will inspire students, welcome families and provide opportunities for people throughout Douglas County to gather, compete and stay active,” Stephenson said.
UCC plans to celebrate the grand opening of the track and field facility on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The event will include activities for all ages, a community ribbon-cutting ceremony and opportunities for visitors to explore the new facility. Additional details about the celebration will be announced at a later date.
