Rain Expected in Roseburg Tonight, Cooler Weather to Follow

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Roseburg could reach 81 degrees Thursday before rain moves in tonight, marking the start of a cooler stretch that will last through the weekend.

The forecast calls for a 90% chance of rain tonight, with a low around 53 degrees. Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain is possible. Winds could gust up to 20 mph.

Friday will be much cooler, with a high near 64 degrees and a 40% chance of precipitation. Rain is possible in the morning, followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The National Weather Service describes the thunderstorm chance across areas west of the Cascades as isolated.

Friday night’s low is expected to be around 46 degrees. Temperatures will remain below normal through the weekend, though conditions should be mostly dry from the weekend into early next week. Temperatures are expected to return closer to normal by Tuesday.

Higher elevations of Douglas County could receive between half an inch and three-quarters of an inch of rain from this system. East of the Cascades, breezy winds and low humidity will raise fire weather concerns Thursday, followed by the possibility of frost or freezing temperatures on some mornings beginning Saturday.
