Rain Chances Return to Roseburg as Cooler Weather Arrives Late This Week

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Roseburg will begin the week with seasonable temperatures and mostly dry weather before rain chances increase and cooler conditions arrive later in the week.

The National Weather Service expects mostly cloudy skies Monday with a high near 77 degrees. Winds will remain light, becoming northerly at around 5 mph during the afternoon. Monday night will be partly cloudy with a low near 52.

Tuesday will start mostly cloudy before gradually becoming sunny. The high is expected to reach about 74 degrees, followed by mostly clear skies and a low near 49 Tuesday night.

Mostly sunny conditions are forecast Wednesday with a high near 75. Clouds will begin increasing Wednesday night and Thursday as a Pacific weather system approaches the region. Thursday’s high is expected to reach about 76 degrees.

Rain chances will increase Thursday night and continue into Friday. Forecasters said uncertainty remains regarding the timing and coverage of the rain, but light precipitation is possible across areas west of the Cascades, including the Umpqua Basin.

There is also a slight possibility of isolated thunderstorms Thursday and Friday, although forecasters said atmospheric instability appears limited. The National Weather Service currently places the broader regional chance of thunderstorms between 10% and 20%.

Temperatures will fall behind the system. Roseburg is forecast to reach only about 66 degrees Friday, with an overnight low near 47. Cooler-than-normal conditions are expected to continue through the weekend, with daytime temperatures struggling to reach the lower 70s in parts of the region.
