Fire Contained to First Floor of Green Siding Road Structure
Central Douglas Fire and Rescue contained a structure fire to the first floor in the 1800 block of Green Siding Road on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Second-floor occupants were evacuating when crews arrived. The cause remains under investigation.
Firefighters contained a fire to the first floor of a structure in the 1800 block of Green Siding Road on Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, according to Central Douglas Fire and Rescue.
Crews were dispatched at 7:43 a.m. and arrived to find smoke coming from the first story. Occupants on the second story were evacuating as firefighters reached the scene.
Crews knocked down the fire and kept it from spreading beyond the first floor. The cause remains under investigation.
Central Douglas Fire and Rescue responded with four engines, two command staff members, and one ambulance. The department’s initial report did not include information about injuries or the extent of the damage.
