Community Dinner Planned For Diamond Lake Boulevard Corridor Feedback

Residents and business owners along Diamond Lake Boulevard will have a chance to learn more about future plans for the corridor during a community dinner and open house later this month.

Thrive Umpqua is hosting the gathering on Tuesday, June 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Abby’s Pizza, located at 2585 NE Diamond Lake Boulevard in Roseburg. Pizza and non-alcoholic drinks will be served from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with project information and discussion with Oregon Department of Transportation staff beginning at 4:15 p.m.

The meeting will focus on the Draft Diamond Lake Boulevard Plan, also known as the OR 138E Design Concept Plan. The City of Roseburg and ODOT are working on the plan to identify future improvements for Diamond Lake Boulevard and OR 138E, with a focus on safety, mobility, and better connections for people who drive, walk, bike, roll, or use the corridor to reach homes, businesses, downtown Roseburg, and nearby destinations.

The project area covers about 3.5 miles of Diamond Lake Boulevard and OR 138E, stretching from SE Douglas Avenue east to Roseburg’s urban growth boundary near Sunshine Park. The City notes that Diamond Lake Boulevard becomes North Umpqua Highway east of NE Patterson Street, but both names refer to OR 138E.

ODOT representatives are expected to share updates on the draft plan and recommendations being considered for the corridor. Residents, business owners, property owners, and others who regularly travel through East Roseburg are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share feedback.
