A 72-year-old woman driving a purple and pink golf cart near Charleston was arrested Friday afternoon on an outstanding warrant out of Florence.

BARVIEW, Ore. - A 72-year-old woman driving a purple and pink golf cart was arrested Friday afternoon on an outstanding warrant, according to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy reportedly saw the golf cart traveling west on Libby Lane near Crown Point Road at approximately 3:53 p.m. Sept. 4 and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as Rennie Strebendt, told the deputy she was traveling to Charleston, the sheriff’s office said. North Coos Dispatch advised the deputy that Strebendt had an active warrant for her arrest out of Florence.

Strebendt was taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Jail on the outstanding warrant.

The arrest was documented under sheriff’s office case number S2026-01410.

Police allegations are not proof of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
