Winston Woman Identified in Fatal Diamond Lake Boulevard Collision
Roseburg police have identified the pedestrian killed in a July 18 collision on Diamond Lake Boulevard as 36-year-old China Anna-Marie Fields of Winston. Police said the incident does not appear criminal in nature and remains under investigation.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Roseburg police have identified the pedestrian killed in a late-night collision on Diamond Lake Boulevard as 36-year-old China Anna-Marie Fields of Winston.
The collision was reported at approximately 11:42 p.m. Saturday, July 18, east of Northeast Pomona Street. Roseburg police officers responded along with fire and emergency medical crews.
Police said law enforcement had received reports shortly before the collision of a woman wearing dark clothing standing in the median of Diamond Lake Boulevard, waving her arms and reportedly moving into traffic in front of passing vehicles.
According to the preliminary investigation, a white Jeep Cherokee driven by 19-year-old Ryan Mays Jr. was traveling westbound in the inside lane when it struck Fields.
Fields was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mays was not injured and has been cooperating with investigators. Police said the collision does not appear to be criminal in nature based on the preliminary investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Roseburg Fire Department and Umpqua Valley Ambulance assisted Roseburg police at the scene.
