Winston Grocery Outlet Peanut Butter Drive Collects 453 Jars to Help Feed Local Children
Winston Grocery Outlet collected 453 large jars of peanut butter through its fifth annual Peanut Butter Drive, helping support the Lunch Box Express program and free summer meals for children in the Winston-Dillard community.
WINSTON, Ore. — A simple jar of peanut butter can go a long way. For families in the Winston-Dillard area, it can mean one more meal, one more lunch and one more child who does not have to go hungry.
Winston Grocery Outlet recently wrapped up its fifth annual Peanut Butter Drive, collecting 453 large jars of peanut butter for children in the local community.
The donations will support the Lunch Box Express program, which helps provide free lunches for children ages 1 to 18 in the Winston-Dillard area during the summer months.

Jeannie Thiessen with Winston Grocery Outlet said the drive is about more than collecting food. It is about helping local children during a time of year when some families need extra support.
“That will help fight child hunger in our local community, especially this summer as some children would not have a meal otherwise,” Thiessen said.
The store works with Kyle Micken of the Winston-Dillard School District to help get the donated peanut butter where it needs to go.
For Winston Grocery Outlet, the drive has become an annual way to support families close to home. Now in its fifth year, the Peanut Butter Drive continues to show how much of an impact local customers can make when they come together for a shared purpose.
Thiessen said the store is deeply thankful for everyone who donated.
“We would like to sincerely thank our kind customers for the donations of the peanut butter,” Thiessen said. “It touches our hearts to know children are not going hungry.”
The 453 jars collected this year will help support a program that reaches children across the Winston-Dillard community, making sure they have access to food when school is out and regular meal routines may not be available.
For the families who benefit, each jar represents more than peanut butter. It represents care, generosity and a community that is willing to look out for its children.
