ROSEBURG, Ore. - Motorists traveling through southwest Roseburg will need to continue using alternate routes as the closure of a section of West Goedeck Avenue has been extended for another week.
The City of Roseburg announced that the road will remain closed through 5 p.m. Monday, October 26, while crews continue sanitary sewer work associated with the wastewater treatment plant operated by Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority (RUSA).
The affected section of West Goedeck Avenue is located east of Old Melrose Road toward Lookingglass Road.
The road was originally scheduled to reopen at 5 p.m. Monday, October 19, but ongoing work has pushed the anticipated reopening date back by seven days.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow additional travel time when traveling through the area. Motorists should also follow posted traffic-control signs and use caution around construction crews and equipment.
City officials noted that the October 26 reopening date remains subject to change depending on work progress and conditions at the site.
Additional updates will be provided by the City of Roseburg as they become available.
