Umpqua Symphony Association Announces Five-Concert 2026-27 Series at UCC
The Umpqua Symphony Association has announced its 2026-27 concert series, featuring five performances at Umpqua Community College from October through May, including Take3, Oasis Ensemble, Acrobaleno Strings, LP and the Vinyl, and Thunder Egg Consort.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Umpqua Symphony Association has announced its 2026-27 concert series, bringing five ensembles to Umpqua Community College between October and May.
All five performances will begin at 3 p.m. at Centerstage Theater at Umpqua Community College. Season tickets are $150 for the full series, a $25 savings compared with purchasing tickets individually. Individual concert tickets are $35 per performance. Douglas County Youth Orchestra students and their immediate families are admitted free.
The newly announced season ranges from genre-crossing contemporary performances to chamber music, jazz, classical music and string arrangements.
Take3 - Oct. 25
The series opens Sunday, Oct. 25, with Take3, a vocal and instrumental trio known for combining styles that would not normally share the same concert program.
The group blends pop, rock and oldies with Americana, country and classical influences, creating performances designed to move between traditional concert music and familiar popular material.
Take3 has previously performed as part of the Umpqua Symphony Association's concert programming, making the October appearance a return to the area.
Oasis Ensemble - Dec. 6
A holiday-themed performance by Oasis Ensemble is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6.
The chamber trio features flute, cello and piano. The ensemble has performed more than 50 works in recent years, including premieres, while mixing familiar compositions with newer and lesser-known works written for its instrumentation.
Oasis Ensemble consists of flutist Dawn Weiss, cellist Austin Bennett and pianist Tung Nguyen. Weiss previously served as principal flutist of the Oregon Symphony for 25 years.
The Roseburg concert will feature a holiday theme.
Acrobaleno Strings - Feb. 27
The series continues Saturday, Feb. 27, 2027, with Acrobaleno Strings.
The performance is expected to explore the history and possibilities of the string quartet while moving through a wide range of styles. The announced program includes classical music, classic rock, jazz standards, ragtime, tangos and Irish tunes, along with music associated with movies, television and the stage.
LP and the Vinyl - April 4
Jazz, blues, R&B and popular music will take the stage Sunday, April 4, when LP and the Vinyl performs at UCC.
The group brings together singer Leonard Patton and the Danny Green Trio. Its music draws from jazz, blues and gospel while incorporating influences ranging from R&B and rock to 1980s and 1990s popular music, Brazilian music and classical traditions.
The result is one of the season's more contemporary entries and another example of the variety represented across the five-concert schedule.
Thunder Egg Consort - May 15
The 2026-27 series concludes Saturday, May 15, with Thunder Egg Consort.
The Oregon ensemble performs chamber music and includes musicians active in a variety of classical music projects around the state. Thunder Egg Consort's own schedule confirms its May 15 appearance in Roseburg as part of the Umpqua Symphony Association Concert Series.
The concert will close a season stretching nearly seven months and featuring five distinctly different performing groups.
Supporting Music in Douglas County
The Umpqua Symphony Association has a long history of bringing performing arts to Douglas County while supporting local music education.
The organization traces its roots to local musicians gathering together in 1951, followed by the formation of the Roseburg Symphony Orchestra Association in 1955. The Umpqua Symphony Association became a nonprofit organization in 1975.
The association also sponsors the Douglas County Youth Orchestra, which began with five students in 1997 and today serves roughly 60 to 70 students each year.
