Roseburg hit 80 degrees Monday, making it the hottest day of 2026 so far and setting a new record high for March 16 at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous record for the date was 78 degrees, set in 1959.

A Winter Weather Advisory and Winter Storm Warning are in effect for central Douglas County from late Monday through Thursday. Valley areas including Roseburg could see light snow, while higher elevations may get heavy accumulations. Travel impacts are likely, especially Tuesday.

Snowpack across Oregon is well below normal this winter, raising concerns about summer water supplies and wildfire risk. In southern Oregon, limited snowfall and early melting have already impacted snow recreation.

A cold front moving into southern Oregon Sunday night is expected to bring mountain snow into Monday morning. Most areas in the Cascades could see 4 to 6 inches, with a small chance of up to a foot. Snow levels may drop to around 4,500 feet overnight, potentially impacting higher elevation travel.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains through Thursday morning. Heavy snow, strong winds, and hazardous travel are expected, with up to 20 inches possible at higher elevations.
