Fatal Crash on Elkhead Road Near Drain Under Investigation

Douglas County deputies are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on Elkhead Road near Drain early Jan. 14. An 89-year-old driver passed away at the scene. A 72-year-old driver was injured and taken to Mercy Medical Center. No intoxicants suspected.

Saving Grace Humane Society announced that 17 dogs seized in August of 2025 with assistance from Roseburg police and Douglas County Animal Control are now available for adoption. The dogs spent several months receiving medical care and socialization and are ready for placement.
