Roseburg Forest Products Ends Hardwood Plywood Production in Dillard Roseburg Forest Products will cease hardwood plywood production at its Dillard plant, exiting the market amid rising imports. About 110 jobs are affected, with workers encouraged to apply at other sites. The company will focus on core lines like engineered wood, MDF, lumber, and softwood plywood.
Roseburg City Council Rejects Campground Site, Releases Report, and Declines Fireworks Ban Roseburg City Council voted 6-2 to cancel purchase of the Stephens St. site for a proposed urban campground, unanimously agreed to release the full Rummel investigation report, and rejected a citywide fireworks ban by a 6-2 vote. The next meeting is set for Oct. 13 at City Hall.
Roseburg Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash Near Dillard A 65-year-old Roseburg man, David Knott, died Monday evening after a single-vehicle crash on Old Highway 99 South near Dillard. His vehicle left the road and bystanders attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
DFPA Raises Fire Danger Level to High Starting Sept. 23 DFPA will raise fire danger to HIGH on Sept. 23. Public Use Restrictions increase: power saws, mowing cured grass, welding, and metal cutting are only allowed before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m. Industrial Fire Precaution Level remains at IFPL II.

Permits cost $75, valid for 7 days, and allow yard waste only. Fires must be attended, out before dark, and burn barrels are banned.
