A Roseburg man is in jail on $50,000 bail after a reported robbery and struggle with police. Raul Yanz Rosario, 41, is accused of robbing a 19-year-old of his wallet and later injuring an officer during his arrest near Fir Grove Park. He faces multiple felony and assault charges.

An 18-year-old Yoncalla student was arrested after allegedly bringing a gun to school earlier this month. Taylor Haydon Larson was released on the condition he stay away from campus. He faces two weapons charges after a video showing a pistol in a school bathroom led to his arrest.

A student was arrested after a video on social media showed a firearm brought onto Yoncalla High School grounds. Authorities say there was no active threat, and Principal Chelsea Ross urged students to report safety concerns, calling communication critical. The investigation remains ongoing.

UPDATE: OSP arrested Brandon James Jensen, 41, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed Dustin Rios, 30, on Highway 42 near Winston. Jensen faces charges of failure to perform the duties of a driver and tampering with evidence. The crash happened early Oct. 12, 2025.

Reedsport Police K9 Snow helped officers seize over two ounces of methamphetamine during a May traffic stop, leading to multiple felony charges against 47-year-old Robert Strebendt of Florence. He remains in the Douglas County Jail on $15,000 bail and is due back in court Friday.

Jeremy Brett Vroman, 48, faces multiple felony charges after allegedly committing two crimes in one day, including a daycare burglary and breaking a home’s window. He appeared via video from jail after refusing to attend his arraignment and has declined a court-appointed attorney.
