Statewide Wildfire Assistance Hotline Available Around the Clock for Oregonians

Oregonians affected by wildfires or wildfire-related smoke can now reach a statewide assistance hotline 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Oregon Department of Human Services says people anywhere in the state can call 1-833-669-0554 for help identifying resources and next steps following wildfire impacts.

The hotline is intended for people dealing with a variety of wildfire-related situations, including those who have lost a home or property, evacuated and still need assistance, are sheltering in place, or are being affected by wildfire smoke and poor air quality.

People with other needs or concerns caused by wildfires can also call.

The hotline is staffed by 211info. If a call is not answered, callers can leave a message and should receive a return call within one business day.

Officials emphasized that the hotline is not intended for emergencies or immediate evacuation assistance. Anyone in immediate danger, experiencing a medical emergency or needing emergency evacuation help should call 911.

People who need information about shelters or other immediate resources can call 211.

Oregonians can also submit their contact information and describe their wildfire-related needs through the Oregon Wildfire Assistance web form. An Oregon Department of Human Services staff member will review the information and follow up.

Calling the hotline does not guarantee financial assistance or eligibility for a specific program. Staff will document each caller's situation and help identify resources that may be available.
