The Roseburg Receiver and The Roseburg Plug are working together to launch The Signal, a new monthly print publication for Douglas County.
We hear from people who miss holding the news in their hands. People who want to sit down with a cup of coffee, read about their community, find something to do this weekend, or discover a local business they have never visited.
Not everyone uses Facebook or regularly visits news websites. We want to help more people stay connected to what is happening here, wherever they get their information.
That is what The Signal is about. And we would love for you to help shape it.

The Signal will bring local information together in a format you can read, keep, and share. We are planning a mix of useful news, community stories, and things to enjoy, including:

We are planning mailed subscriptions, local pickup, and bulk delivery to participating facilities and community spaces. Choose the option that works for you and contact us to ask about availability and launch details.
Printing and delivering a publication every month comes with ongoing costs. Paid subscriptions help cover those costs and keep The Signal going beyond its first edition. Advertising and sponsorships help support it, too. We want to keep the price affordable while creating something people will look forward to reading each month.

What files should I send for my advertisement?
Send a press-ready PDF with fonts embedded, or a JPG or PNG at a minimum of 300 dpi at the final print size. Email files to info@theroseburgreceiver.com.
What are the print specifications?

- Use the dimensions in the rate table for smaller ads

Can you help design my advertisement?
Charter Advertisers receive one free design round with their first placement. Ongoing ad design is also available. Contact us for rates and to discuss what you need. Design revisions are due 14 days before the print date.

Where will The Signal be available?
Planned distribution includes mailed subscriptions, designated local pickup locations, and institutional bulk accounts at participating nursing homes, clinics, and waiting rooms. The Signal uses paid subscriptions and bulk accounts rather than free rack distribution. Contact us for pickup and delivery arrangements as the launch approaches.
Will there be a digital edition?
Yes. Every issue will also be available as a full-color PDF. Mailed and local pickup subscriptions include the digital edition, and advertisers receive digital placement at no additional charge.
When will the first issue come out?
We will announce the first-issue date here as printing and distribution arrangements are finalized. In the meantime, contact us about subscriptions, advertising, or helping with the launch.
