Roseburg is looking at a cool, unsettled stretch of weather to start the week, with clouds and scattered showers in the forecast before wetter conditions arrive by midweek. The National Weather Service point forecast for 2 miles west of Roseburg calls for a slight chance of showers today, mainly before 11 a.m. and again after 1 p.m., with a high near 58 degrees.

Showers become more likely tonight, with a 40% chance of rain mainly after midnight and a low around 44. A similar pattern continues Tuesday, when Roseburg is expected to see a 40% chance of showers under mostly cloudy skies and a high near 60.

Rain chances increase Tuesday night, with rain likely after 11 p.m. and a low around 45. The wettest weather in the current forecast arrives Wednesday, when rain is expected before 5 p.m., followed by showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. The high is expected to be near 53, with south winds of 5 to 9 mph and gusts up to 18 mph. Forecasters say Wednesday carries a 100% chance of precipitation, with between a quarter and half an inch of new rainfall possible.

A low pressure system will impact the region Wednesday and Thursday bringing rainfall across the forecast area. Highest amounts expected along and near the coast. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible as well.

Unsettled weather is expected to continue Wednesday night, with showers, rain, and a chance of thunderstorms still in the forecast. The low is expected to dip to around 40, and snow levels are forecast to lower from about 3,700 feet to 2,600 feet after midnight.

Rain remains likely Thursday, with a high near 53 and snow levels rising from 2,600 feet to 3,400 feet in the afternoon. Conditions then begin to improve Thursday night, when the forecast calls for just a chance of rain before 11 p.m. and a low around 35. By Friday, sunnier weather is expected to return, with a high near 64.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Roseburg is expected to warm back up. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies Saturday with a high near 71, followed by partly sunny conditions Sunday with another high near 71.
