SE Stephens Street Improvement Project Set To Begin July 13
Construction on the SE Stephens Street Improvement Project is scheduled to begin July 13, bringing paving, sidewalk improvements and ADA ramp upgrades to several intersections in south Roseburg.
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Construction on the SE Stephens Street Improvement Project is scheduled to begin Monday, July 13, with work expected to continue through September.
The project will bring paving, sidewalk improvements and accessibility upgrades to the SE Stephens Street corridor in south Roseburg.
The work will include:
- Sidewalk improvements
- Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramp upgrades
- Road paving along SE Stephens Street
- New safety and accessibility improvements along the corridor
Sidewalk and ADA ramp improvements are planned at:
- SE Rice Avenue
- SE Roberts Avenue
- SE Burke Street
- SE Waite Avenue
- SE Haynes Avenue
- SE Brockway Avenue
Road paving will take place on SE Stephens Street from the southern city limits to beyond SE Brockway Avenue.
During construction, drivers and pedestrians should expect:
- Lane restrictions
- Periodic closures
- Nighttime paving to help reduce traffic impacts
- Pedestrian detours around active work zones
- Access to nearby homes and businesses to be maintained whenever possible
The City of Roseburg said the project is intended to improve safety and accessibility along the corridor and thanked the public for its patience while the work is completed.
