Roseburg Library to Host ‘Bee Amazed!’ Program for Kids
Roseburg Public Library will host Bee Amazed! at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, giving kids from pre-K through fifth grade a hands-on look at Oregon’s more than 500 types of bees. The free program is part of the library’s Summer Reading Program.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Young visitors to Roseburg Public Library will have a chance to explore the world of Oregon’s bees during a free educational program next week.
The library will host Bee Amazed! at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, presented by the University of Oregon’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History.
The program is designed for children from pre-K through fifth grade and will introduce participants to some of the more than 500 types of bees found in Oregon.
Children will learn about mason bees, cuckoo bees, mining bees, longhorn bees, honeybees and other pollinators through hands-on science activities and interactive lessons.
The event is part of Roseburg Public Library’s Summer Reading Program and will be held at the library, 1409 NE Diamond Lake Blvd.
Admission is free.
Funding for the program is provided through a grant from the Douglas County Cultural Coalition and the Oregon Cultural Trust.
