Roseburg Fire To Hold Live Fire Training On NE Fulton Street Sunday
Roseburg firefighters will conduct a controlled live fire training exercise Sunday morning at 233 NE Fulton Street. Residents may see smoke, flames and fire apparatus in the area, but officials say the exercise is supervised and part of firefighter training.
Roseburg residents near NE Fulton Street may see smoke, flames, fire engines and additional activity Sunday morning as local firefighters take part in a controlled live fire training exercise.
The Roseburg Fire Department said the training will take place at 233 NE Fulton Street on Sunday, June 7, 2026, starting around 8 a.m. and continuing until about noon. The exercise will be held in partnership with Central Douglas County Fire & Rescue.
The training is designed to give firefighters realistic, hands-on experience in a controlled environment. Crews are expected to work through multiple fire scenarios focused on fire behavior, fire development and extinguishment.
Residents in the area should not be alarmed if they see smoke or flames coming from the structure during the exercise. Fire officials said the training will be supervised and conducted by certified fire instructors.
People nearby may also notice increased noise from fire apparatus, equipment and instructor communications. Those with respiratory concerns, pets or health sensitivities may want to keep windows closed while the exercise is underway.
Fire officials are also asking the public to stay out of the training area and avoid approaching the scene. A safety perimeter will be in place while crews are working.
Firefighters may remain at the property after the live fire portion of the training wraps up while crews complete cleanup and make sure the site is secure.
The Roseburg Fire Department thanked the property owners for allowing the structure to be used for training, saying live fire exercises are an important part of preparing firefighters for real emergencies.
