Reedsport To Celebrate Opening Of New Downtown EV Charging Stations
Reedsport will celebrate the grand opening of four new EV charging stations in historic downtown on Friday, April 24 at 11 a.m. at 451 Winchester Ave. The project was supported by grants and local partners to expand charging access for residents and visitors.
REEDSPORT, Ore. — The City of Reedsport is inviting the community to attend a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for four new electric vehicle charging stations in historic downtown Reedsport.
According to the event announcement, the ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at 451 Winchester Avenue in Reedsport.
City officials said the new charging stations are intended to provide a convenient option for residents and visitors, offering fast and efficient charging while people shop or dine in downtown Reedsport. The stations also accept credit cards.
The project was made possible through grant funding from the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Community Charging Rebates program, Travel Southern Oregon Coast, and the Oregon Coast Visitors Association. Additional assistance was provided by Central Lincoln PUD and Elkhorn Electric, according to the announcement.
The city said the addition of the four stations marks another investment in downtown infrastructure and accessibility for electric vehicle drivers traveling through the area.
