Pacific Power Plans Low-Flying Helicopter Inspections Around Roseburg
Pacific Power will conduct low-flying helicopter inspections of power lines in and around Roseburg on Aug. 25 and 26 as part of routine efforts to ensure the safety and reliability of local electrical infrastructure.
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Residents in and around Roseburg may notice a helicopter flying lower and slower than usual Tuesday and Wednesday as Pacific Power conducts inspections of local electrical infrastructure.
Pacific Power notified the City of Roseburg that helicopter inspections are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Wednesday, Aug. 26. Flights will take place during daylight hours.
According to the City, the helicopter will operate at low elevations and slow speeds while crews visually inspect power lines and other equipment.
The inspections are part of Pacific Power's ongoing work to help ensure its electrical infrastructure continues to operate safely and reliably.
Pacific Power is also notifying customers who are connected to the specific electrical circuits included in the inspections. The company provided advance notice to City of Roseburg and Douglas County officials, as well as local media, so residents are aware of the increased helicopter activity.
The inspections are expected to be limited to daylight hours during the two-day period.
