Umpqua Valley Tennis Center Names Nathan Miller As New General Manager

UVTC has hired Nathan Miller as the organization’s new General Manager, the UVTC Board of Directors announced.
Miller is an active member of the local tennis and pickleball community and brings a background in journalism, community outreach, and photography through his work with the local paper. Board members said his communication skills and community connections are expected to help strengthen UVTC, grow engagement, and support the future of the facility.

In the new role, Miller will oversee day-to-day operations at the tennis center, support programming, help develop club marketing and collateral materials, and improve communication with members and the broader community.
The board said Miller will soon be working from the pro shop area, in the room just to the left as visitors enter the indoor building.

“We’re excited about this next step for the tennis center and look forward to the energy and enthusiasm Nathan will bring,” the UVTC Board of Directors said in its announcement.
The board also thanked members and supporters for their continued support of UVTC.

For the third consecutive year, Mercy Medical Center has achieved the prestigious Leapfrog Grade A for patient safety and quality excellence.
A CHI Mercy Health release called the honor a monumental accomplishment for the hospital’s staff, providers and volunteers.
The release said the designation isn’t just a badge. It’s a powerful validation of the unwavering commitment that Mercy staff brings to its patients every day.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands alone as a national benchmark focused purely on preventing medical errors and harm.

Wooley said, “This outstanding achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to excellence demonstrated by each and every one of our team members”.
The release said Leapfrog assigns an “A”, “B”, “C”, “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. Critical access hospitals are not eligible for such review.
